Bahaullah also believes in independent investigation of truth and that religion must conform to reason otherwise it is superstition. Bahaullah has also forbidden the interpretation of his writings and thus we must always take its literal meaning.
“He who interprets my words, and takes them outside its literal meaning, he is out of God’s blessing”
Let us now see what Baab and Bahaullah have said regarding Monotheism and worship of God.
Seyyed Baab writes in 2nd volume of Bayan:
“God cannot be adored and worshiped”.
Bahaullah follows the example of Baab in many of his writings such as in the book of Mobeen, where he says:
Say thou recognizing (God) is recognizing myself-
My outer being invites my inner being and my inner being invites my outer being there is no one in the world except me,
There is no God except me, the imprisoned
The way is closed beseeching God has been rejected.

All Prophets and The Quran have said: (Surah Hud, V.61)
إِنَّ رَبِّي قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ
Lo! my Lord is Nigh, Responsive.
In Surah Baqarah: V.186 it is mentioned:
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ
And when My servants question thee concerning Me, then surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he crieth unto Me. So let them hear My call and let them trust in Me, in order that they may be led aright.
But Bahaullah says
“Most surely I am Allah. There is no God save me. I am the Lord of everything. The O my creatures, you worship me alone.”
(Tajalliyat, Tajalli 4, page 5)
The conclusions from the aforementioned Quranic Verses clearly state that the Divine Prophets have claimed themselves as servants of God, and invited people to worship Allah. This the same message that has been conveyed by all Prophets.
But Bahaullah claims, he himself is God and God has appearance in his manifestation. He also says about Prophet Hood in his book Badiee, page 119 as follows:
Think a little, that the highest position of humanity is the position of Prophet Hood, and most people suppose that reaching this position is impossible.
Therefore, in Bahaullah’s own words, the highest position of humanity is the position of Prophet Hood, but herein lies the irony. When the highest position of humanity is Prophet Hood then how has Bahaullah claimed divinity?
